Shelby County Agricultural and Mechanical Association

Shelby County A & M primary focus is to promote the progress of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the areas of agriscience and mechanics in horticulture and floriculture. To stimulate public interest in all breeds of useful domestic animals and poultry. To elevate the education, dignity and efficiency of agriculture and mechanical endeavors.

The Shelby County Fair Board has provided assistance to multiple organizations that serve the citizens of Shelby County that are under privileged, older adults, communities of color and the homeless. Floral Hall & the fairgrounds have been used over the years, free of charge, for multiple organizations that service in and around Shelby County, Kentucky. Below is a listing of some of the events that were not charged for the use of the facility/grounds: March 26, 2022, Floral Hall was used for the Glasius Dedoss Hispanic Church for their church services. April 9, 2022, Martha Beach with the Martinsville Community Fund to raise awareness and funds for sports teams for children that are underfunded, underprivileged and minority in and around Shelby County. May 14, 2022, Glasia Emanual Church to hold a fundraiser. May 20-21, 2022, Brothers Keepers to raise fund for veterans and burn victims. June 11, 2022, Martha Beach with the Martinsville Community Fund to raise awareness and to update playground equipment for children in low-income communities in and around Shelby County. July 16, 2022 Clay Street Baptist Church to hold their Community Day. The Shelby County Fair Board invites all of the elderly residents, including those in nursing homes and assisted living homes of the community to come to tour the exhibits and receive refreshments at the county fair free of charge. The first day of the fair the admission is free with free ice cream. Floral Hall has been used for memorial services and small weddings for families who are unable to afford a place to hold services.
