Women's Fund for the Fox Valley Region, Inc.

The mission of the Women’s Fund - to promote the advancement of women and girls in our community - reflects our vision of a community of equality where power and opportunity are not limited by gender. We do this work through grants, strategic initiatives, advocacy, and education. The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region was established in 1994 as a field of interest fund within the Community Foundation. In 2005, the Women’s Fund became a supporting organization of the Community Foundation and operates as an independent 501c(3) charitable organization. Our first grants were awarded in 1997, and since then, we've built an endowment of $3 million and granted over $2.6 million to 122 nonprofit organizations for 269 programs. These programs address the needs of women and girls, including continuing education and training, life skills mentoring and supports and mental and emotional wellness. All of which create pathways to financial stability for women and girls. In 2022 the Women’s Fund adopted a strategic focus and priorities to realize our mission and vision. The focus is to strengthen and accelerate economic opportunities that enable women and girls to achieve their full potential. We brought this new focus to life and will achieve this outcome by prioritizing programs, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that center on education and training, life skills mentoring and supports, and mental wellness.

In our society, gender powerfully impacts experience and opportunity. Through grant making, strategic initiatives, education and awareness, and research and advocacy, the Women’s Fund addresses the issues and challenges specific to women and girls. By engaging in philanthropic activity and leveraging community collaboration, we envision a community where women and girls can achieve their highest aspirations. The Women’s Fund is committed to creating transformational social change that results in a better community for everyone by investing specifically in the needs and talents of women and girls in the Fox Valley region.
