Who We Are

Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

YMCA of Western North Carolina is a nonprofit organization working to strengthen the foundations of community through programming that supports youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The organization’s work is rooted in four core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The organization seeks to celebrate diversity and promote well-being throughout the community.

YMCA of Western North Carolina is a partner in the Asheville Buncombe Middle Grades Network, which utilizes a collective impact strategy that brings together Asheville City Schools, Buncombe County Schools, and community partners around a shared vision of creating success-ready 9th-graders and improving graduation rates.
