Volunteer Tutors
Attend our new volunteer orientation session to learn more about how you can become a volunteer tutor with the Literacy Council of Buncombe County.
Volunteer tutors should be willing to commit to working with a student for one year, two hours per week. We match students and tutors based on availability, location, and other specified preferences.
You may choose from three tutoring programs: Adult Literacy, Youth Literacy, and/or ESOL (you do not need to speak a second language to tutor in our ESOL program).
All orientation sessions will be held monthly at the Literacy Council of Buncombe County.
