Volunteer: Community Board of Directors - Madison, Milwaukee or AppletonTitle: Member, Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Community Board of Directors Accountable to: President, Community Board of Directors Partner with: Chapter Executive Director, and \ Market Director Position Summary: Community Board Members provide volunteer leadership in their assigned community (Madison, Milwaukee or Appleton) and play a vital role in ensuring their chapter, and in turn the organization, achieves its goals, including sustained, year-over-year revenue growth to meet Breakthrough T1D’s mission related funding priorities. Duties include: · Model commitment to the organization as a “top three” philanthropic priority in contributions of time, talent, treasure, and ties · Attend and engage fully in interactive board meetings · Actively serve on or chair one or more committees or subcommittees · Make an annual gift of personal significance to the organization to ensure 100% board giving · Champion the organization’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities · Leverage personal and professional network to cultivate meaningful connections for Breakthrough T1D that expand volunteer leadership, corporate and leadership giving pipelines and proactively drive fundraising to meet chapter goals · Serve as a passionate ambassador and steward of Breakthrough T1D’s volunteers and donors, including newly diagnosed families and individuals · Advocate to build and sustain critical support for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research funded by the Federal Government by raising awareness among Members of Congress of the financial, medical and emotional costs of the disease · Build strong mutual partnerships with chapter staff and volunteers · Be familiar with Chapter communications and proactively respond to requests for assistance, information, and feedback · Consider membership in Breakthrough T1D’s Legacy Giving Beta Society Minimum Commitment: Directors are elected to two-year terms (beginning in July) and may not serve more than three consecutive terms.
