Reach Counseling, in collaboration with Harbor House Domestic and Sexual Violence Programs, provides crisis intervention and emotional support 24/7 to survivors of sexual abuse and their friends/family with the help of On Call Advocates. On Call Advocates can be on call nights, weekends, and holidays when the Reach office is closed.  Day time options also available. Volunteer Advocates are trained to provide emotional support, crisis intervention, information and resources to survivors of sexual abuse and assault in Winnebago, Outagamie and Calumet Counties. Advocates provide these services in person at one of six local hospitals. Advocates work alongside medical and legal professionals to ensure survivors are supported while navigating these processes, reducing further trauma and re-victimization while tending to a survivor’s emotional needs.    

On Call Advocates must have a driver's license, car insurance, and vehicle while on call. On Call Advocates take calls through their own phones and never have to be at the Reach office while on call. On Call Advocates must be aware they will hear details of sexual abuse and assault and should know how hearing these stories will impact them. Advocates oversee how many shifts, and which shifts they take. Advocate schedules are very flexible, and all training is provided up front as well as ongoing training opportunities offered.

Reach Counseling is currently seeking to fill 2–3 Board of Directors positions. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in the following areas:

• Finance and Fiscal Strategy: Individuals who may be interested in serving on our General Board of Directors and on our Finance Committee, such as CPAs, financial professionals, or those with experience in grant management, budgeting, or organizational financial strategy.

• Technology and Systems Improvement: Professionals who can help advise the organization on technology solutions, workflow optimization, data management, and leveraging systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

• Marketing, Communications, and Community Education: Individuals with experience in communications, social media strategy, website design, branding, public relations, or community engagement who can help ensure our mission and services are effectively represented throughout the community.

Board terms are three year commitments. Our meetings are the last Monday of each month from 5:00-6:30. If any one interested has skills or background outside of these areas, we welcome their interest as well.
