United Way's Books for Kids program distributes books (donated by Capstone) to approximately 4,000 regional children.

We are seeking volunteers to help with unloading, set up, labeling envelopes, stickering Capstone books, and putting books/newsletters into the envelopes to be mailed.

Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

YWCA Mankato requests community input through joining committees that provide insight on our various program areas. Committees usually meet once a month in the Mankato area and are a fantastic way to meet other women in the area that are passionate about leadership, connection, and collaboration. 

These low commitment meetings help provide insight and make our organization better!

Volunteers will help with sorting, labeling, weighing, and packing various food items to help feed hungry Iowans. The projects vary day to day and volunteers regularly work with fresh produce, dry goods, and other donations. 

Age Requirements:

Minimum age: 10 years

Volunteers ages 10 - 15 years must be accompanied by an adult/guardian who is also registered for the shift.

Qualifications:

Able to stand, move, bend and twist for the duration of your shift.

Able to read printed dates on packages and weight on scales.

Lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Some positions may require lifting up to 40 pounds. 

Dress Code:  Closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers without the proper attire will not be able to work inside the Volunteer Center. Please dress comfortably and in layers. The temperature in the Volunteer Center can vary.

Personal Items: Lockers are provided to store any personal items. Cell phones are allowed for photos. We ask that any phone calls be taken in the Volunteer Lobby.

Support/Training: Each shift includes a welcome, training, time to work on the project, and a wrap-up. Volunteer Center Coordinators will be present throughout the entire shift for support.

Work directly with Adult Basic Education (ABE), English Language Learning (ELL), and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) learners! 

We are learner-centered and learner-directed. Our learners identify their own goals, choose their path to meeting those goals, and participate fully in planning and assessing their progress. Supporting our tutors is a top priority. There is no prescribed recipe for tutoring with us. That is intentional and by design. We offer individualized tutor training, immediate support when requested, and tutor workshops.

We are looking for at least an hour a week of tutoring. Day, time, and location are organized between tutor and learner. Our office, along with our old library location on the third floor, provides multiple tutor rooms with materials to help.

Our mission at Ohio Invention League is to empower students and educators throughout the state to embrace innovation through the Invention Cycle. From identifying real-world problems to crafting ingenious solutions, our young inventors go through a transformative journey that culminates in regional, state, and U.S. National competitions.

We are in search of passionate individuals like you to join us as mentors for these budding innovators. Your experience and expertise can truly ignite the spark that fuels an innovation mindset in our students. By providing guidance and support as they enhance their prototypes and presentations, you play a crucial role in shaping the future of these aspiring inventors.

Mentors will meet on Zoom with an OIL moderator and one or two other mentors. Up to three student inventions will be presented during the one hour session.  Mentors will give feedback to student inventors to help them prepare for National competition.  Previous experience is not required.

Louisiana has the highest rate of food insecurity in our country, but together we can ensure no senior goes hungry.

The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is looking for volunteers to help pack boxes for our Senior Program These food boxes will provide about 30 pounds of shelf stable items like beans, rice, canned vegetables and more to over 1,400 low income senior citizens every month.

Multiple one-hour shifts are available from Monday - Friday at the Food Bank in Monroe. Once you apply, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule your shift.

CASA New Advocate Training is required prior to becoming an advocate for children in foster care. Trainings are held at various times throughout the year. The training is achieved in several sessions and is taught either in-person or a combination of in-person and online. Please contact us for more information on the next training class.

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization - our mission is to empower families to
effectively navigate medical debt by encompassing, finances, fundraising, education, resources and spiritual
well-being.

The Community Benefit Tree was established in 2004. It started as a labor of love after hosting the Wolfinger Charity Golf Outing in memory of Lawrence (Larry) Wolfinger who passed away at the age of 54 from a heart attack. The committee of the first golf outing decided to give the proceeds from that event to a family whose daughter was a diabetic and needed a glass eye which the family could not afford. After the first golf outing, the committee decided to continue giving the proceeds of the event to more individuals and their families that were struggling financially because of medical crisis. After 12 years of planning the golf outing, Heidi Frederickson (daughter of Larry Wolfinger) and Karla Wolfinger (wife of Larry Wolfinger) saw the increasing need in the community and were led by the grace of God to help out more families struggling with a medical crisis. This was the beginning of Community Benefit Tree, Inc.

Board meetings are held once a month for usually 1 - 2 hours, typically in the evenings. In addition, each
board member is expected to serve on a committee that would generally meet monthly for an hour. Board
members need to attend 4 - 6 special events throughout the year.

The term for CBT board members is two (2) years.

Junior Achievement of South Central PA has various volunteer opportunities in South Central PA, including Lebanon County. The programs are held at the schools.

Our programs span PRE-K to 5 and focus on entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy, and workforce readiness. Our volunteer-led programs allow volunteers to share their personal and work experiences bringing real-world relevance into the classroom and bridging the gap between the education and business worlds. This sharing brings the curriculum to life for students, helping them not only to better understand the JA lessons, but also to make the correlation between a solid education and the opportunities it provides.

South Central CASA transforms lives by training community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in the foster care system. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) represents children who are victims of child abuse, sexual abuse and/or neglect, and advocate for them in court before the Judge. The CASAs are appointed by the Judge to be the eyes and ears of the court and the voice of a child in court. Each CASA is to advocate for the best interest of each child who has been made wards of the court in Cleveland, McClain and Garvin Counties. With an end goal of finding a safe and permanent home for each child served.

Friendship Place (FP) exists to encourage adults with mental illness to live well by fostering an environment that provides members with peer support, advocacy, and education.

Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd.

**We are looking to add people for several different shifts, including a regular Friday morning shift and several weekend rotations.**

Even if we can't use you right now, we'd love to have you come meet us and learn about volunteering! Options for volunteering can open unexpectedly, so please reach out if you are interested in volunteering.

Our ONLY location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. This is the only location where volunteering of this type will take place. If you cannot come out to this location, we hope you will find an organization near your home that you can volunteer with instead.

C.A.R. is looking for volunteers (21 years old or older, please) to be placed on a set schedule to help during the day, in the evenings, on weekends. Schedules are flexible, but are typically on a set rotating schedule. Duties will include scooping litter boxes, cleaning the adoption area, monitoring & noting cat behavior, socializing the cats in our care, and medicating cats when necessary. Even if you can only volunteer a few hours every couple weeks or once a month, we would love to have you! Chicagoland Animal Rescue NFP is looking for people to sign up to be a foster home, so when a cat in need is taken into our group, they have a place to decompress and be evaluated before going to our space at PetSmart or being ready for forever homes! Ideally, you should have some experience with cats, including medication, nail trims, and socializing, but we are willing to consider people who have not had a cat before as well. Foster parents must be 21 years or older only, and all members of the household must be on board with fostering and understand the expectations for doing so. Once you contact us, please keep an eye out for a follow up email from fundraising@chicagolandanimalrescue.org (and check your spam folder, too!) within about 24 hours.

Members of the Advisory Council share their gifts in service to our mission by providing our organization with their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge of constituent perspectives; their connections, resources, colleagues or peers; their philanthropic support or other forms of needed assistance. The Advisory Council has no governing function within the organization.

Join an Advisory Team:

Light clerical work, computer-related projects, mass mailings, assists in preparing
for event projects and answering phones. Assisting with storefront
pickups and drop offs of rental or resale items. Occasional cleaning.

QUALIFICATIONS: Willingness to travel to office in Kaukauna.

We have volunteer opportunities to help process items that are donated to our thrift store, such as cleaning the item, checking to see if in good condition and working properly, and labeling with the proper store code. This is a good opportunity for families, individuals or groups of all ages to work together.  Very relaxed atmosphere.

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) needs your support to host a care package drive and help families going through a medical crisis by providing some joy, hope and comfort.  When families have a sick loved one, they often are drained emotionally and financially.  We would like to send them care packages to assist them with this difficult time.  

Looking for companies, schools, churches, families and organizations to host a "Hope Care Package Drive". A collection box should display a list of needs to assemble the care packages to give to families in the community struggling with a medical crisis.  These items will be packaged and given to families who need immediate assistance.

Items needed:  Gas cards, Restaurant cards, Coffee Places gift cards, Grocery Store gift cards, board games, socks, blankets, lip balm, crossword puzzles, kid's toys, coloring books, crayons, pencils, and totes to put the items in.

TIME COMMITMENT: 4 to 6 hours a month, subject to change based on need

Need research done for local and national resources for our families.  Topics include transportation, basic needs, holistic assistance, medical condition specific help just  to name a few.  This opportunity can be done at your home with internet connection.

posters at area businesses, expo’s, etc...

QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with all social media outlets desired.

The Thompson Center on Lourdes provides opportunities for people 50+ to thrive through purposeful collaboration, socialization, education and wellness activities or events.

The TCoL is the only accredited non-profit senior center in the Fox Cities.  The organization received accreditation from the Wisconsin Associate of Senior Centers on November 12, 2021.  This accomplishment ensures our senior center operates at the highest level of service, builds credibility and trust among our community members, and continues to set a standard of excellence.  

With a deep-rooted history in the Fox Cities, the Thompson Center has been a leading source of community engagement and socialization for over 70 years through various avenues; Appleton Civic League, Appleton Senior Center, and Thompson Community Center. For many of our seniors, TCoL is not just an activity center, it is a lifeline source of companionship, support, and vital resources.  

Our goal is to become the recognized leader in building connections and opportunities to reimagine aging and to empower individuals to be their best selves.

There is one board meeting per month, held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Meeting are about 90 minutes.

WRTO is creating a 26-mile hiking/biking trail in the Boscobel/Woodman/Wauzeka area.  Phase 1 is completed from the northern border of Boscobel to the Von Haden Boat Landing, Phase 2A just received a WI Dept. of Transportation $2.1 million grant with construction from Borden Road near Milk Specialties to Cozy Acres Trailer Park beginning in Spring 2022-engineering planning is occurring now. Phase 3 Follow the road north of the Von Haden Boat Landing, along Hwy. 60, into Wauzeka. The WRTO Board creates fundraisers for events, targets all our local citizens, as well as the many visitors, to come enjoy our region and STAY a bit longer.  There are 4000 canoeists that visit Boscobel yearly, and we would like to create more activities for them to do.  

We have worked with the city of Boscobel closely, along with the Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Natural Resources, Dept. of Tourism, Chamber of Commerce, UW-Platteville engineering students, and many businesses within the region to form an alliance, ask for donations, and create family-fun fundraisers to entertain the community as we raise money.

NEWVoices presents high-quality choral music that engages and enriches communities and our members. NEWVoices sings music that uplifts and inspires residents of Northeast Wisconsin. We are a mixed-voice adult choir comprised of 80 volunteer singers who audition, rehearse, and perform like professionals. We are to choral music what a symphony is to orchestral music. Our singers and audiences come from a 6-county region. We perform 4-5 live choral concerts annually, each featuring fresh repertoire and with thematic programming that responds to community issues and emphasizes collaboration with partner organizations.

At the History Museum we seek to inspire people to discover and appreciate history, and in particular the rich history of the Fox Valley, through exhibition, education, and collections. In addition to the public exhibits offered at the History Museum at the Castle located in downtown Appleton, the organization offers educational experiences for adults and children, traveling exhibits available to companies and community partners, and an extensive collection of archival documents and photos available for research. The museum serves our local community, but also draws a substantial number of visitors statewide, nationally, and even internationally.
On April 26, 2024, the Museum celebrated the grand opening of a new permanent exhibit of our local history called 'You Are Here'. ‘You Are Here’ provides students, residents, and visitors an opportunity to learn about the rich history of the Fox Valley region. In addition to this new exhibit and the permanent Houdini exhibit, in recent years the History Museum has highlighted important, yet often overlooked, segments of our community with exhibits like Stone of Hope: Black Experiences in the Fox Cities and (In)Visible: Homelessness in Appleton.

The Trout Museum of Art is all about art! As a primary location for the visual arts in central Wisconsin, TMA is set in the thriving Fox Cities community. Our three floors of galleries host 12-18 exhibitions a year, sharing work from local, national, and international artists. TMA offers hundreds of classes and camps throughout the year, plus; free educational programming to those who need art to heal and feel inspired.

Community events like TMA’s 64th annual Art at the Park festival, exhibit celebrations, and community art projects make art accessible to all. Everything we do and the choices we make are guided by our mission, vision, and values to serve the visual arts.

Duties include:

·         Model commitment to the organization as a “top three” philanthropic priority in contributions of time, talent, treasure, and ties

·         Attend and engage fully in interactive board meetings

·         Actively serve on or chair one or more committees or subcommittees

·         Make an annual gift of personal significance to the organization to ensure 100% board giving

·         Champion the organization’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities

·         Leverage personal and professional network to cultivate meaningful connections for Breakthrough T1D that expand volunteer leadership, corporate and leadership giving pipelines and proactively drive fundraising to meet chapter goals

·         Advocate to build and sustain critical support for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research funded by the Federal Government by raising awareness among Members of Congress of the financial, medical and emotional costs of the disease

·         Be familiar with Chapter communications and proactively respond to requests for assistance, information, and feedback

JA Finance Park

JA Finance Park is an onsite simulation focusing primarily on financial literacy that challenges students to create a budget and live within their means.  7th-9th grade students have already completed 12-13 classroom lessons to prepare for their day. Upon arrival, they will be given a life scenario that includes their salary, family situation, existing debt, savings, and credit. This scenario will be their life for the day and students will plan for and implement a monthly budget.  Volunteers will serve as a small group facilitator, working with 6-8 students.  You and your group will work through each stage of the simulation including budget category research, personal budgeting, shopping and payment.  You will lead your group of students though an activity in each segment and support them through their day, sharing your personal experiences and checking for understanding as you go.

JA BizTown

JA BizTown is a day-long visit to a fully interactive, simulated town. 4th-6th grade students have already completed 13 classroom lessons to prepare for their day. They have each interviewed for and accepted a position for a job that they will assume upon arrival. Students will work together to run their individual businesses while managing their own finances and experiencing the flow of the economy. They are producers in the morning and consumers in the afternoon. This is a great day of learning in all three pillars of JA programming: Career Exploration, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship. Volunteers will help a small group of students write checks, make bank deposits, lead staff meetings, understand their jobs all while providing encouragement and ensuring that students have a great day.

The ACE Mentoring Program is seeking caring adults to mentor students at Fremont Middle School (grades 6–8) and Fremont Ross High School (grades 9–12). Mentoring requires just 30–45 minutes once a week during the school day, yet the impact lasts a lifetime. As a mentor, you’ll provide encouragement, support, and guidance to help students succeed both in school and in life. To get started, you’ll complete a Match-Up Profile Form and Application, followed by FBI and BCI fingerprinting through Fremont City Schools at no cost to you. After that, you’ll attend a mentor training with the ACE Mentoring Program Coordinator to review program expectations and resources. It’s a small commitment with a big reward—helping shape the future of our students and our community.

Manage an existing group or start a new one—our projects involve companies, service clubs, professional associations, church groups and many other kinds of organizations. CASA volunteers are provided training and support to advocate for children who's families are involved with a case with childrens services.  The volunteer will investigate the circumstances in the child's life and get to know the child well enough to make formal recommendations to the judge on what is in the childs best interest.  The advocate will remain with the child throughtout the life of the children's services case.

Come Ask-Think-Learn-Share alongside kids and their families learning in The Lab at Building for Kids! You will assist the museum's educators in facilitating activities that help build skills of inquiry and curiosity about the Scientific Method.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are everyday citizens who complete specialized training that prepares them to be effective advocates for abused/neglected children with active cases in Family Court. CASA of the River Region trains and supports volunteers in Jefferson, Shelby, Spencer, Bullitt, Henry Oldham, and Trimble Counties in Kentucky. CASAs provide a caring, consistent presence in the lives of children as they face uncertainty. Sworn in by judges to be their "eyes & ears", CASAs get to know the child(ren) involved in their cases and provide important information to the Court to ensure kids don't fall through the cracks. YOU can change a child's story as a CASA.

As an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBS has empowered thousands of life-changing friendships between Bigs and Littles in Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Waupaca counties since its inception in 1968.

In the summer of 2018, Big Brothers Big Sisters and youth mentoring agency Best Friends of Neenah Menasha realized that the challenges facing youth serving organizations were not going to change unless they themselves were proactively changing too. In July 2019, the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters and Best Friends of Neenah Menasha voted to legally integrate into one youth mentoring agency to widen the reach, deepen the impact, and ensure that all youth are on track to reach their full potential through opportunities for intentional mentoring.

With the leadership, guidance, and financial support of many community partners, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Best Friends Neenah Menasha legally merged on January 1, 2020. With the name changed to Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin, the vision and mission remain untouched. All current programs and communities of service that were served individually by these two historically rooted youth mentoring agencies have continued to be served through the two collaborative organizations.

Through our work, we seek to change the lives of children facing adversity for the better, forever. With a mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth, we aim to do so through partnerships with hundreds of volunteers that provide kids in our community with a positive adult role model in a professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationship.

As a member of our Event Planning Committee, you’ll play a meaningful role in shaping an event that supports healing and transformation for survivors of sexual violence in our community. You can choose to join the main committee, a sub-committee, or both! Here’s how you can get involved:

Main Committee

Meets virtually once a month on the first Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. Provides overall direction and support for the event

Sub-Committees (meet as needed):

Sponsorship & Fundraising: Recruit event sponsors and secure auction or raffle item donations.

Marketing & Promotions: Help develop our marketing plan, design invitations, create social media content, and support event signage.

Event Production: Collaborate on decisions around flowers, linens, decor, food and beverage, and entertainment.

Event Programming: Assist with curating event speakers, scripting, and run-of-show planning.

Bonus opportunity: Volunteers can also assist during event setup, the event itself, and takedown (optional, but always appreciated!).

**Monday Tuesday, & Thursday 8 am- 2:30 pm During this distribution, we need volunteers to work in the market, warehouse, and outside.

The YMCA of Sandusky County is always looking to recruit new and on-going Bingo volunteers. Bingo is held at the YMCA every Saturday. Duties include selling pull tab tickets, program sheets and other bingo related tasks. Standing and walking is required at most times during the duration of the Bingo event.

We are looking for volunteers to welcome new learners to WALC by helping them get started in their learning journey. You will assist with the intake process, making sure that learners feel supported and understood.

Tuesdays all day: 9am-2pm

Volunteers will receive training on how to complete intakes before doing them on their own.

We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate play with children at our Women & Children's English Classes!

The Wisconsin River Trail Organization (WRTO) is a grassroots nonprofit building a 20+ mile paved trail along the lower Wisconsin River that will connect Boscobel to nearby communities. This trail promotes health, wellness, and community pride while honoring the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s Driftless Area.

Seeking friendly faces to assist with meal delivery to homebound seniors. 

Duties include:

Load food carriers and other food products into vehicle

Transport and deliver meals to homebound participants and return carriers to designated location

Maintain and operate vehicles in compliance with all traffic and safety laws

Record first and last delivery times and collect other required documentation of daily route

Attend trainings required to fulfill these essential duties

Maintain a safe driving record by driving lawfully and prudently with your personal safety in mind
