TITLE: Member, Community Benefit Tree Inc Board of Directors   REPORTS TO: Board President   PURPOSE: To serve the Board as a voting member, to develop policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of Community Benefit Tree Inc; to monitor finances of the organization, its programs and performance; and secure and ensure equate funds to support the operations.   TERM: Two years   EXPECTED MEETING ATTENDENCE: - Regularly attend meetings as scheduled each month. The third Friday of the month at 11:00a.m.-12:30p.m. - Attend standing committee meetings - Attend Board retreats, in-service workshops and other Board development activities - In order to maintain continuity, the member needs to be present on consistent basis. Therefore, a board member is allowed three absences during the year, if more than three meetings are missed in a 12 month period; the board will address the issue when the need arises.   OBLIGATIONS OF THE BOARD: - Establish policy - Fulfill the Mission of the Organization - Hire/fire/supervise and evaluate the Executive Director - Secure adequate funds to support the operations - Assist in fundraising activities for the organization - Monitor finances - Maintain, develop and update long-range plans       SPECIFIC DUTIES: - Attend meetings and demonstrate commitment to Board activities - Be well-informed on issues and agenda items - Contribute skills, knowledge and experience when appropriate - Listen respectfully to other points of view - Participate in organizational decision-making - Financially support the organization and fundraising efforts - Assume leadership roles in all Board activities, including fundraising - Represent the organization to the public and to private industry - Educate yourself about the needs of the people served   Board Orientation and Training Required- 7 hrs

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) needs your support to host a care package drive and help families going through a medical crisis by providing some joy, hope and comfort.  When families have a sick loved one, they often are drained emotionally and financially.  We would like to send them care packages to assist them with this difficult time.  

Looking for companies, schools, churches, families and organizations to host a "Hope Care Package Drive". A collection box should display a list of needs to assemble the care packages to give to families in the community struggling with a medical crisis.  These items will be packaged and given to families who need immediate assistance.
