Each school continues to work towards the mission of “Excellence with Equity” by ensuring that hiring practices, school improvement practices, delivery of instruction and student discipline are seen through an equity lens.

Asheville City Schools uses a district-wide, comprehensive, standard curriculum to ensure “Excellence with Equity” for all students. Asheville City Schools works to stay up-to-date on the most effective practices to ensure the best educational outcomes for all students. Additionally, Asheville Community Schools connects with community partners and volunteers to provide supportive programming to students, families, and the community. ACS enhances student growth for all students within their core instruction, social/emotional learning plan, communications protocols, and after school programs for pre-k to 12th grade.
