Who We Are
Heckrodt Wetland Reserve oversees preservation of the sanctuary and provides educational and recreational resources to the community. Our goal is to foster an ethic of environmental stewardship through volunteerism, interpretation, and naturalist-led experiences. Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is a 91 acre non-profit urban nature center that is home to a variety of wildlife. The Reserve features 3 miles of trails, the Wild Space Children's Nature Playscape, and interactive Nature Center. We provide environmental education programs for schools, childcare centers, scout/youth groups, and senior groups.
What We Do
The mission of Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is to enhance, restore, and preserve the Reserve and educate all people in the importance of conserving our natural resources while promoting the Reserve's many recreational opportunities.
