Who We Are

At Community Clothes Closet, we believe clothing can open the door to a better future and are dedicated to providing free clothing to all people in need.  Through generous support, we fulfill the basic necessity of clothing, outerwear, footwear, accessories, towels and bedding for our clients. A consistent and reliable source for the human necessity of clothing means clients can redirect their assets to other household essentials.

Community Clothes Closet started in 1980 when a small church group provided a single pair of shoes to a homeless man in need. Through these humble beginnings, Community Clothes Closet has grown to the 20,000 square foot facility it is today.  We serve over 10,000 active clients including the working poor, students, returning veterans, the homeless, older adults, the disabled and those who have emergency clothing needs because of a fire or flood.  Sadly, we are a resource for survivors of domestic violence and children entering the foster care system; those who typically have nothing but the clothes on their backs.

What We Do

We empower people by equipping them with functional, polished clothing to build confidence in social situations, ace a job interview or a test at school and stay safe from harsh, outdoor elements.  Half of our clients are children and the majority of our specialized programming is focused on mitigating the crippling effects of poverty on youth.

By providing free clothing, we help families stretch their limited income for other basic necessities like shelter, food, child care and medical care.
