Who We Are
Lake County Haven empowers homeless women and their children to achieve permanent, independent living. It is our vision that no one who enters our programs will ever be homeless again.
What We Do
Lake County Haven provides life-saving transitional shelter, housing, and supportive services to women and children who are homeless and in crisis. We now offer two shelter locations and seven housing units.
As a “transitional” program, the Haven provides much more than a bed to sleep in for a night. Rather, we offer a two-fold residential approach that combines basic needs like nutritious food, access to medical care, and a safe, homey, longer-term living environment with on-site holistic, intensive supportive services.
With a typical length of stay of 5 months in our Shelter Program and 1 year in our Housing Program, the Haven offers women and children the education and resources they need to address the root causes of their homelessness, as well as the time they need to practice all they have learned. Each Haven resident participates in one-on-one case management as well as an intensive Day Program.
Our residential and supportive services work together to provide women and families with all they need to become independent again including:
● Basic Needs
● Access to Medical Care
● Counseling & Mental Health Support
● Recovery Coaching
● Life-Skills Training
● Career Services
● Financial Education
● Parenting Classes
