Who We Are

The Fox Cities Book Festival creates programs and events to support our mission of “connecting writers and readers across our diverse communities.” Currently the Fox Cities Book Festival is organized by a leadership board of 9 members. Board members and volunteers put in thousands of hours to plan and run the festival, as well as other literary/cultural events we sponsor throughout the year. Our organization has hosted more than 830 authors and 1300 free community events, representing a variety of genres. Our festival engages everyone from early readers to older adults and all events are open to the public. We want everyone in the Fox Cities to recognize the unique roles and responsibilities we all play in the creation, acknowledgement, and sharing of stories. Vision: Build an engaged community through the celebration of diverse stories. Values: Commitment to diversity Respect for people, communities and cultures Collaborate & build community Equity Learning through literacy

What We Do

The mission of the FCBF is "connecting writers and readers across our diverse communities". We bring authors/artists here for educational, cultural and enrichment opportunities. We provide access to new, diverse, and underrepresented voices. We promote reading, writing and the exploration of new genres. This encourages cognitive growth and fosters a deeper understanding of one another and our world, building a stronger, more educated community. The events we offer explore different cultures, traditions, perspectives and ideas, "learning environments” where individuals can develop their intellectual, social or cultural knowledge through their participation. The FCBF is a partnership with the public libraries in the Fox Cities. We also develop partnerships with other community organizations and businesses to assist us with providing ACCESS to quality programming for the entire community. The Fox Cities Book Festival works tirelessly to bring an annual book festival to the Fox Cities and maintain the Fox Cities Reads community read, offering additional experiences to the cultural programming landscape in our community. The Fox Cities Book Festival is one of only a handful of organizations enhancing the quality of life through the literary arts in the state of Wisconsin. We diligently work to remove all barriers that keep patrons away from our programming. Language interpreters are hired for events as needed. All event spaces are ADA compliant. When possible, events are broadcast over Facebook Live, Zoom or recorded. Videos can accommodate community members with illnesses, mobility issues, or scheduling conflicts. We seek grant funding and sponsorships maintaining opportunities that are free, inclusive and open to all.
