Who We Are

For over 40 years, Bethesda has remained Oklahoma's only center dedicated to the treatment and prevention of childhood sexual abuse. Our mission is to heal the trauma of childhood sexual abuse through therapy, education, and prevention. Core to our vision is a world where survivors and their families have a safe and empowering place to heal, regardless of financial restraints. As such, all of Bethesda's clinical and educational services are completely free.

What We Do

Here at Bethesda, we seek to heal, educate, and empower Oklahomans and specifically, survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Our therapeutic and educational programs are offered at no cost to our clients.

Through our trauma-informed group and/or individual therapy sessions, children learn healthy coping skills, improve self-esteem, and work through the healing process. Because family members often need to be involved in the healing process, we also offer non-offending caregivers education and support groups as well.

Our educational programs, including the interactive Stop, Go & Tell presentation, are perfect for schools and community organizations. The curriculum uses age-appropriate lessons to equip children with the vocabulary and courage to set boundaries. Adult-oriented programs are also offered to educate on the warning signs of sexual abuse, how to report suspected abuse, and ways to provide appropriate support.
