Who We Are
Mission: Drive inclusive economic growth in Chicagoland by bringing together the region’s food & beverage industry to explore, create, and leverage collaborative opportunities. Vision: Bigger Table will bring together the food & beverage industry to collaborate and deliver on a series of charitable and economic growth initiatives. By working together, we work more effectively, create bigger impact in our neighborhoods, and better engage employees and the communities we serve. History: To date since our inception in 2020, we have sourced donated ingredients, formulated and produced nutrient-rich food products, and have donated over 4 million servings to local Chicagoland food banks.
What We Do
Bigger Table was created with a simple idea; when you have more than you need, you build a Bigger Table. Food ingredients shouldn’t stay in a warehouse. Instead, together we turn those ingredients and make food directly for food banks, for those who can benefit the most. We’re bringing together Chicagoland’s food & beverage companies to help communities address issues facing us today: hunger, unemployment, and inclusive economic development. We’re listening to food banks and community organizations—there is great need that isn’t being fully met. Communities need nutritious food. People need jobs. Bigger Table believes in a food & beverage industry that is better connected to and gives back to communities in which they operate, an industry that hires and trains more often from traditionally disadvantaged communities, and a more empathetic industry that understands its role alongside community leaders and organizations within a just and equitable society. Together, we will rally our community and build the partnerships necessary to help solve hunger today, and tomorrow. Through donated ingredients and expertise, Bigger Table has donated more than 1.5 million servings of food to Chicagoland food banks since its founding in 2020. Bigger Table helps address expanded food insecurity through facilitating in-kind donations of food ingredients, food science, manufacturing line time, packaging and more to create nutritious food—provided free—for Chicagoland’s food pantries and food banks. Without Bigger Table, none of these donated food products would exist – and, in many cases, the ingredients would have become food waste.
