Who We Are

Atlas Science Center is the home for STEM in Northeast Wisconsin. Guest enjoy our Science Live! Stage show, make paper, and enjoy exhibits about sustainable energy practices, the human genome and more. Our field trips are geared toward students in grades 3-12, and are led by our highly skilled education staff.

What We Do

Our purpose is to teach STEM and inspire guests. Students of all ages are taught the scientific method and why all steps are important. We also challenge them to assess scientific evidence and how this may or may not fit into their view of the world. We hope to leave guests with more knowledge than they had before. Our secondary purpose is to build confidence in students so they feel there is a place for them in STEM. We want them to feel comfortable asking questions and speaking about their knowledge and thoughts. We strive to foster relationships with our community and outreach to diverse and underserved populations so that everyone has access to resources. We believe there should be no barriers to learning STEM. A third purpose of Atlas educators is to help guests understand that there is more to STEM than simply learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Career opportunities beyond basic STEM jobs are available and helping students discover these options is another important purpose. STEM is interdisciplinary and spans art, history and other subjects. A visit to Atlas can help guests with social-emotional learning and the acquisition of soft skills. We help guests realize that STEM stretches beyond what they may think.
