Great Rivers United Way became a part of the community in 1949.
Our vision is that all individuals and families in our communities will achieve their full potential through education, income stability and healthy lives.
Our mission is to unite people and resources to improve lives and strengthen our communities.
We value collaboration to meet the human service needs of our communities, integrity because we are accountable, ethical and transparent in our actions and relationships and we support our neighbors in need with vision, enthusiasm and dedication to long-term solutions through advocacy.
Great Rivers United Way seeks to ensure fair treatment, equality of opportunity, and fairness in access to information and resources for all. We believe this is only possible in an environment built on respect and dignity.
What We Do
Great Rivers United Way raises money through an annual campaign that will be distributed to other non-profit organizations. These organizations apply for program funding that fall under basic needs (food, shelter, safety). We have community members who review the grants and help with the funding decisions.
