Who We Are

Veterans Restoration Quarters is a 246-bed housing facility serving male veterans who are experiencing homelessness in Buncombe County. The mission of Veterans Restoration Quarters is to create a principle-based environment and comprehensive residential program that addresses every area of restoration in the life of a homeless veteran. Veterans Restoration Quarters envisions eradicating homelessness for male veterans in Buncombe County.

Veterans Restoration Quarters is a division of Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), a nonprofit organization working in Buncombe County to address poverty, hunger, homelessness, and health care access. ABCCM is a family of Christian congregations in the Asheville-Buncombe County area organized to respond to emergency assistance needs in the community.

What We Do

Veterans Restoration Quarters provides assistance to veterans and some civilians through four types of housing services:

  • Transitional housing
  • Permanent supportive housing
  • Nightly emergency shelter
  • Six-month housing program for civilians

Residents are provided housing, meals, case management services, counseling, laundry facilities, a computer lab, chapel, and transportation to VA Medical Center appointments. The organization strives to provide each man with stability, personal skill building, and educational and training opportunities leading to employment and independent housing, along with the restoration of personal dignity, faith, and strength.
