Who We Are

Mission: To promote the environmental and economic vitality of the French Broad River and its watershed.

RiverLink is a regional nonprofit organization focused on the French Broad River. RiverLink envisions becoming a national model for its success at revitalizing and restoring the French Broad Broad River Watershed from Rosman to Hot Springs where each community values the river as a place to live, learn, work, and play

What We Do

RiverLink accomplishes its mission by providing permanent public access to the river through conservation and recreation easements and by working on innovative and creative projects, varying in scale, that reclaim or improve key areas in the watershed, provide education, and engage community members, such as:

  • Community Conservation Initiatives: Assistance to landowners in conserving their land, including workshops on rainwater management in residential settings, programs for protecting properties, and construction of parks and greenways.
  • Water Quality Initiatives: Efforts to improve and protect water quality, including stream restoration projects involving the repair of eroding streambanks, stormwater control projects, a water conservation program involving the harvesting of rainwater, watershed restoration, and watershed management planning.
  • Environmental Education Projects: Hands on, experiential learning opportunities for students to see, hear, and interact with local waterways, including stream ecology lessons, a week long river camp, and an art and poetry contest.
