Weaverville Elementary is a public elementary school serving students in second through fourth grades in Weaverville, NC, in the Buncombe County Schools System. The school envisions its students becoming leaders, lifelong learners, and responsible global citizens. Weaverville Elementary is a Leader In Me school, seeking to create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
What We Do
Weaverville Elementary uses a curriculum for second through fourth grades that includes English/language arts, math, reading, and other areas aligned with North Carolina curriculum standards. Additional instructional supports include arts and music programs, the academically and intellectually gifted program, exceptional children’s program, school counseling, and a library media center. After-school clubs and enrichment activities include:
- Battle of the Books
- WvES Film and Drama Club
- Boyz to Men
- Hip Hop Hawks Dance Club
- Healthy Hawks Running Club
- Chorus
- Movement and Music
