Who We Are

Mission: To inspire hope and healing while ending sexual violence and human trafficking in our communities through education, counseling, and advocacy.

Our Voice is a non-profit crisis intervention and prevention agency that serves all survivors of sexual violence ages 13 and up in Buncombe County, and all survivors of human trafficking ages 13 and up in Buncombe, McDowell and Transylvania Counties.

The agency was founded in 1974 as an all-volunteer grassroots organization. The agency remained underground until August 1983 when we received our 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit agency and the first employee was hired. Now, 50 years and considerable growth later, Our Voice employs 12 paid staff, working both to support the healing of survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking and to prevent future acts of sexual violence and human trafficking from occurring.

What We Do

Our Voice offers a variety of services including: 24/7 crisis line support, medical accompaniment, court advocacy, case management, counseling, prevention education, and peer support groups.

All of Our Voice’s services are free and confidential for primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence or human trafficking.
