Description

JA Traditional Classroom Programs bring volunteers into the classroom to teach students, K-12, about entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy, and workforce readiness. By sharing their personal and work experiences, JA volunteers bring real-world relevance into the classroom, bridging the gap between the education and business worlds. This sharing brings the curriculum to life for students, helping them not only to better understand the JA lessons, but also to make the correlation between a solid education and the opportunities it provides. JA programs are aligned with the common core standards for Math, English and Language Arts.

• The commitment is teaching 5-7, 30–45-minute classes depending on grade level. This can be one class a week, one class each day for a week, or 3 classes one week and 2 the next week. The teacher is flexible and is willing to work with your schedule.

• The teacher remains in the room and is there to support you.

• The JA programs come in a curriculum kit with everything you need to teach the class.

• The JA Volunteer Guides are easy to follow with many hands-on grade appropriate games and activities to keep the students engaged.

• All new volunteers attend a virtual or in-person training session which will provide you with tips on teaching your JA program.

• The students will make you smile – you get WAY more than you give!

• The students LOVE JA!

We work with schools in Winnebago and Outagamie County, and you can choose one near you.
