Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World® – Building Resources for a Better Life. YWCA’s Getting Ahead program aims to provide economic empowerment for low-income women of all ages and backgrounds to make choices that positively impact themselves, their families and their community.
Title: Getting Ahead Volunteer
Reports to: Getting Ahead Coordinator
Responsibilities for the Getting Ahead Volunteer position include:
- Support the Getting Ahead Coordinator in pre-session activities for the upcoming cohort
- Help Getting Ahead Coordinator in set-up/breakdown of in-person Getting Ahead sessions.
- Help put together gift bag/care package or totes bags for getting ahead cohort
- Put together Support Materials (diapers, food boxes, clothing) for participants in the Getting Ahead office.
- Assist the GA Coordinator put together resources and information before each class and distribute if necessary.
Time Commitment: Class sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-3pm; times may vary depending on prep time and clean up.
All volunteers will be subject to a background check. After responding to this posting, you will receive a separate application and further instructions from the YWCA.
