Batavia United Way is, once again, running the Day of Caring annual leaf raking event for senior citizens, veterans, and those with disabilities on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Teams of volunteers fan out across Batavia to rake leaves to the curb before the City of Batavia leaf pick up that week.
Come to Pal Joey's at 31 N. River St. at 1pm to get your assigned address. Pal Joey's opens at noon if you'd like to grab lunch before heading out to rake! Batavia United Way board members will be there to greet you at 1 p.m. with your assigned address either on the east or west side of Batavia. If you'd like to do this as a group, family, or team, please indicate that on the sign up so we can put you together!
Please bring your own gloves, rake, tarp, and/or leaf blower. We rake both the front and back yards to the parkway for leaf pick up. If there are any special instructions for your assigned home, we will let you know. Once you have completed your assigned yard, you are done for the day!
